Hardware Diagnosis is Now Free at TechRestore!

Due to the overwhelming response to our Back to School free diagnosis special, TechRestore is now adding  free hardware diagnosis  for laptops to our service offerings.  A rollback of $59.99!

You may be wondering: “Why?”    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Our experience has shown us that 90% of the time, we can pinpoint the most likely cause and offer a standard repair quote, without a lot of labor involved. In fact, we find that a lot of times, we can diagnose a laptop at the counter while it’s being checked in! We don’t want a diagnosis fee to keep anyone from coming in – thinking they have a very serious problem that can’t be fixed or will cost too much to fix.

The free diagnosis includes any labor up to opening the device. If we need to open it, that means that more labor intensive testing needs to be done. If the problem is serious enough to have to open it, you decide if you want to spend $59.99 to find out what needs to be fixed. (We will probably still have a ballpark idea of maximum repair cost.)

Once we provide a repair quote and it’s approved, the diagnosis fee is applied toward the repair, as always!

Some issues will require a more thorough examination. In the case of a logic board failure or liquid damage, some power supply issues or battery problems – we have to get in there to provide a detailed and accurate repair quote. In these cases, the $59.99 diagnostic fee will apply. If a repair is feasible and approved, the fee will be deducted from the repair cost. If the repair is not approved, the $59.99 covers our labor in the diagnosis.

In any case, you can rest assured that our experienced Apple Certified techs can handle whatever repair is indicated. You should also know that we will NEVER perform any paid service without your prior authorization. We all like surprises, but not THOSE kind!

Now, we won’t claim that it will be less painful to put your MacBook, iPad or (heaven forbid!) iPhone in a box and hand it over to the UPS driver. We don’t like being away from our devices. It’s natural to worry and yes, you may feel a little lost.  Whether you use it for business or pleasure, most Americans are very attached.

Luckily, TechRestore was founded on the idea that we treat our customers the way we would want to be treated. Specifically, that means we cover all the bases, from setting up the repair, to shipping it, communicating along the way and getting it back fast. We also offer at least one year functional warranty on most repairs.

Here are a few ways we make it easy for you:

  • The most common repairs have a flat rate repair fee and can be ordered online or by phone.
  • Shipping options! Ship it yourself or take advantage of our low priced shipping – from UPS Ground to Next Day Air speeds. Kentucky is centrally located to more of the U.S. so most of our customers have actually found the shipping time shorter.
  • Our techs are Apple Certified (of course!) and have years of experience in the Apple ecosystem. Once it arrives, work begins within hours. We’ll be in touch if we need information or approval before we can move ahead and we’re always available to answer questions that come up for you.
  • Most parts are in stock or nearby. If something needs to be ordered, we’ll let you know when we expect it AND we trust the parts (hence, the minimum 1-year warranty!).
  • We’re here for you after the repair! We want to know that everything is working as expected. On the rare occasion it’s not, we work to make it right with the least inconvenience possible (we hate when stuff like that happens!).
